The fasts are done; the Aves said;
The moon has filled her horn
And in the solemn night I watch
Before the Easter morn.
So pure, so still the starry heaven,
So hushed the brooding air,
I could hear the sweep of an angel’s wings
If one should earthward fare. ~ Edna Dean Proctor, Easter Morning
We had a Tenebrae service tonight that was moving – Father was on a roll with the incense, the choir was in fine form with the Chants (even in Latin) and the slowly dimming lights was was dramatic. When the service was over there was such a loud commotion! It was the first Tenebrae service that Father has ever attempted – and I hope it continues as part of our Triduum from this point onward!!! Happy Easter! He is Alive!

I had to look up what a Tenebrae service was, Val! I think I would have loved to have attended one. Living in a world that clamours for your attention, things like a Tenebrae service can help close the doors to the outside noise while opening our inner portals to the spiritual world.
