When the devil wants to capture our soul, he first divides our mind by many cares. Some of them appear to be necessary, others appear to be fraternal charity; and as he thus divides it, the stream of compunction is dried up, and when it is dried up the city is captured, and reason perishes. ~ St. Anthony of Padua
God’s love flows through us from an eternal spring. As scripture promises, His mercies endure forever. He fills the caverns of our weariness with His abundant love. How blessed we are by our Heavenly Father! Wishing you blessings on this St Patrick’s Day!!!

Yes, His love and mercy outlasts anything the world can give us. If we keep the door to our hearts always open to His love and mercy, we would never be lost.

Have you read C.S. Lewis’ Screwtape Letters? So true that we are easily divided and then conquered…

No, I haven’t, but I should. It’s gotten a lot of airing in Christian discussions in recent years.

Be careful though – there is a lot of “uncatholic” thought i.e. not doctrine in it.

I see. I will keep that in mind, Ana.

This is a great quote – we need to be aware of how insidious the evil one can be! For he is the master of disguise and lies!

I’ve experienced this several times – this dividing of the mind. It is different from ordinary busyness. It leaves one dry, scattered, restless.
Not good.
