Someone I know has gone home today. A life well-lived in service to others. A life of prayer. A life of sacrifice.
In this day of doing less, of great publicity for whatever is done, however trivial, this life stands in stark contrast to the mantra of the world.
Today too, I read that Sandy Hook people have urged us to go out and do good so some good can out of the pain of last year. This is something different: to create gold out of pain, to birth beauty from pain.
